Writing "The AMERICA We Know"
Retiring out of the business world, and my 25-yr career in the U.S. Air Force & Air Force Reserves, traveling to all 50 States, and some 50 countries and territories, saw me re-settling back to Wisconsin. I guess I am a four-season weather guy. Not being a creative writer, I spent two years in research and writing my second educational publication on 'America's Exceptionalism.'
What they say is very true . . . the more you spend time out of America, the more you appreciate what we do have. Our education system does not stress the those positive values enough. America has never been without it's issues, but our greatness stems from our tenaciousness to endure whatever is thrown against us. We certainly are up against one of those challenges again. This time an enemy from within is tearing apart our Constitution and our way of life.
"The AMERICA We Know" was written out of frustration of seeing the lack of a true understanding & education of what our Founding Fathers gave us. Do we really know what we have? I am beginning to think most of our citizenry does not. In a book for the entire family... let us change that with extreme prejudice! ENJOY!
My background
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tom Block joined the U.S. Air Force at age 19 and spent most of his 25+ years as as an Air Force Combat Aircrew Member. Within the military airlift area, was qualified on six different type aircraft, but mostly flew the C-141 Starlifter strategic jet-cargo aircraft as an Aircraft Loadmaster. He has some 5, 700 hours, and over 55 combat sorties from Vietnam (Linebacker I + II) through Gulf War I (Desert Shield & Desert Storm), including Cold War Missions. Proud to be labeled a Vietnam, Cold War and Gulf War I Veteran, he retired as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer from the Air Force in 1999. He is a non-fiction writer of books on America perspectives and is the Editor of the "American Truth Index." He is a graduate from the University of Colorado's School of Business, and completed post-graduate work towards an MBA thru National University in San Diego, CA.
Besides his Air Force Career, Block spent 35 years in Marketing & Sales and Business Development, in the Insurance, Finance, Computer Software Industries, and started several small businesses. He is married to his wife of 39 years, has three children, and resides in Wisconsin.
Community Service
As a big believer in giving back to the Community Service, Tom Block volunteers his time with several non-profit organizations. He is involved in the U.S. Military Explorers & Air Force Explorers Career Education Programs and is an active member of the Wisconsin State Council of the Knights of Columbus Charitable Organization.
